10 days in Banff, Yoho, and Jasper National Park. Here are some highlights:
Hiked all the way to a glacier. Two thirds of the way up we were rewarded by an amazing teahouse that served the best grilled cheese I've ever had & some tea that warmed us up from the snow storm we were not prepared for. Needless to say, we bought hats and gloves the very next day. We got a good amount of wildlife sightings. Watched bald eagles diving for fish, stalked some elk that were very tourist friendly, even saw a momma bear with her cubs. Don't worry, didn't get attacked Revenant style. Although someone I was with *cough* Jai *cough* might've alluded to there one being right next to me which set me off on having a massive panic attack...nbd. Anyway, experienced crazy temperature change from below 30 to 80 degrees within the week we were there. Canada is mainly winter and summer and the week we went it was transitioning from... winter to summer.
Overcame fears scrambling ginormous rocks to get a fine view of the majestic Moraine Lake. Scrambled more rocks to get on top of a secluded secret waterfall. Stayed out from dawn till dusk which is 6 am to 10:30pm Canadian time so....yeah super exhausting. Stayed in Field, a tiny town in BC of about 150 people. They have 1 gas station and 2 restaurants. Both were fantastic. Our airbnb did not have internet so we lounged outside the restaurants catching wifi to stream the finale of Game of Thrones. We did a super toursity thing and did a glacier tour. It was pretty cool, we got to walk on a glacier and drink the water. The more interesting part for me was the the insanely massive bus we took to get to the glacier which has to go down (and come back up) the steepest road in North America. That's all I can think of right--I'm sure there is tons more but that's enough to get your started. Oh wait, almost forgot one small detail...I got engaged in the middle of all that fun stuff.
*Still in the process of editing the rest of the photos, but enjoy!
